It is currently widely used in earthquake-stricken areas such as mass settlement houses, workshops, warehouses, shops, kiosks, and temporary houses on construction projects. Fires caused by steel plates and fires that are blocked by iron fences and billboards that affect people's escape, fire fighting and rescue have occurred from time to time, causing heavy casualties and property losses. How to prevent and control fires in color steel plate buildings has become a concern of the society. Below we mainly introduce some of the main factors that cause fires in color steel sheet.

1. Insufficient understanding of fire hazard and fire hazard of prepainted steel sheet. Color steel sandwich panels are made of color coated steel plates, and the core materials are mainly polystyrene, polyurethane and rock wool. The first two are polystyrene (benzene board for short) or polyurethane of different thickness sandwiched between two thin steel plates. Once this material is subjected to high temperature sparks or open flames, it will burn immediately, due to the honeycomb structure of the material itself. In addition, the contact surface with the air is enlarged, and the burning is very violent. During the fire fighting process, water and fire extinguishing agent can only be sprayed on the steel plate outside the color steel plate, and cannot directly act on the burning material in the interlayer, and the burning product is extremely toxic. Easy to cause casualties, such materials are very popular with investors or developers due to their relatively low cost. The latter is rock wool of different thicknesses sandwiched between two layers of thin steel plates. This material is a non-combustible material with better fire and heat insulation, but due to its relatively high cost, ordinary investors or developers are reluctant to use it.

2. Some color steel sheet construction projects have not been audited and accepted by fire protection, resulting in inherent hidden dangers in color steel plate construction. In some projects under construction, fire protection design was not considered in the design, or although there was fire protection design, the construction was not carried out according to the drawings during the construction process. After the completion of the project, the fire protection inspection and acceptance were not carried out. As a result, several aspects that can be checked are ignored. In addition, the local government re-introduces the amount of capital in the process of attracting investment and neglects the procedures, and tacitly permits the illegal phenomenon of enterprises that have not been examined and used before being built and used before inspection, and it is difficult for such structures to be fireproof after being put into use.

3. The owner changes the use function without authorization to increase the fire risk. The fire hazard of some color steel structure factory buildings when applying for fire protection review and acceptance is Category D E, but in fact they may be category C plants, or they were in Category D E production at the initial stage of use, but were not declared in time after the adjustment of production items. For example, a special automobile refitting factory in Jinan City arbitrarily changed the color steel plate warehouse into a workshop, and carried out welding and painting construction operations in the workshop, but did not take any special fire separation measures. As a result, in April 2006, due to accidental welding It caused a fire, caused the plant to collapse and caused huge property losses.

4. Improper installation and use of electrical appliances are also important causes of fires in color steel houses. The cause of fire in color steel sheet buildings is directly related to the illegal use of electrical appliances and circuit aging. Some are directly installed in the sandwich layer of the color steel plate, and some are directly drilled through the color steel plate when the wire passes through the wall. Drilling without a sheath can easily cause damage to the insulation layer of the wire and cause a short circuit to fire and cause a fire. Poor management after being put into use, using an open flame or welding and cutting operations near the color steel plate caused the combustible sandwich material inside the color steel plate to burn and cause a fire.
