How to choose the right color steel coils?

Jun. 11, 2020

When using color steel coils, we have to see if they meet our requirements, so as not to cause unnecessary trouble, but also waste resources and funds. In general, we need to pay attention to two aspects when using:

The choice of substrate (compressive strength of substrate, hot-dip galvanizing and surface casting, etc.), the choice of architectural coatings.

In order to further understand the corrosion resistance of the color coated steel coil, the surface zinc layer is not in direct contact with the air, and the surface colorability is increased, which must be painted. That is to say, according to different main uses, it is necessary to choose appropriate substrates and architectural coatings, and adopt proper painting methods to produce color coated rolls that meet the requirements.

In order to have a good adhesion between the architectural coating and the surface of the galvanized steel sheet, the hot-dip galvanized surface needs to be organically treated. First, clean the oil and dirt adhering to the surface of the galvanized steel sheet, otherwise it will affect the adhesion of the coating, so degreasing and cleaning are required. Subsequent organic chemical conversion treatment, the usual method is to make the hot-dip galvanized surface layer-by-layer composite compound, or phosphate treatment. The former has good paint adhesion, while the latter has good corrosion resistance. After the organic chemical conversion treatment, it should be sufficiently dry and lacquered in a state that can contain moisture in the body.

The color steel coil has light weight, beautiful appearance and good corrosion resistance, and can be directly processed. It provides a new type of raw material to the construction industry, shipbuilding industry, car processing industry, home improvement industry, electrical equipment industry, etc. Good results such as steel on wood, high-efficiency engineering construction, resource saving, and pollution avoidance.
