What is the use of spangles on Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet?

Aug. 27, 2020

Because the total output of Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet with spangled raw materials is relatively small nowadays, can the hot-dip galvanized raw materials without galvanized spangles be used instead?

There are two types of spangles for hot-dip galvanized steel sheet: one is all normal spangles, and the other is spangles free. In previous hot-dip galvanized products, the lead in the zinc solution could not be extracted very purely, and there were always some spangles on the surface. Therefore, people's old consciousness is that the hot-dip galvanized sheets have spangles.

With the development trend of the automobile industry, if the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet needs to be sprayed, the spangle is harmful to the spraying. After that, according to the lead in the zinc ingot and the zinc liquid, it is reduced to dozens of ppm. It is possible to produce products without or very few spangles.

All normal spangles are the spangles obtained from the zinc layer under normal conditions after hot-dip galvanizing. It is said to be used for general main purposes.

The key to zinc-free steel plate is that according to the unique production process, lead is generally controlled to a certain level in the zinc pot, or after the hot-rolled strip steel is out of the zinc pot, it undergoes a unique solution, such as the treatment of small spangles. Process or spray zinc powder to control the spangle below a certain level to obtain spangle-free steel sheet.

The key to the non-ferrous metal steel sheet is to carry out further zinc non-ferrous metal solutions to the pure galvanized steel sheet after the zinc pan, and obtain a zinc-free, dark gray, and dull coating.
